Instinctive training isn't about changing or Monster
Mass Review creatine a new plan. It's more so about filling in those gaps. What I mean by gaps are those days where you may be a little offset for whatever reason. You may be tired or you have something stressful going in your life, or maybe you hurt yourself during your prior workout; it could be anything that throws your routine out of whack. This is where I believe instinctive training can be very productive.
Here's an example. let's say you annihilated your chest on Monday's chest workout and in the process you feel you may have pulled or strained a muscle. The following Monday you get ready to hit chest again but you're still hurting a little from the previous week. You obviously will be doing more harm than good if you go in and perform your normal chest routine. Now is the time to go by feel; to go by your instinct. A day off is always an option, but you could also go in and do a little cardio or work another body part instead. Or maybe you can work chest by doing a few isolation movements instead of going super heavy and intense.
This method can benefit you when 'life happens.' Sometimes things come up that demand our presence or energy, and it throws us off from our workout schedule. Instead of not working out at all, we can simply go to the gym and instinctively train. It could be that you modify your regimen just for that day, or it could even be that you have that extra burst of sustainability that day and feel that you can do more so you extend your workout. Whatever the case may be, even with a plan we still need to be in tune with ourselves and learn to listen to our bodies.
If there's one thing you don't want to do is that you don't want to lose any hard earned muscle. It's easy to feel like you're losing muscle mass when you're trying to cut body fat. Many think you have to sacrifice one for the other. There's a mental impact of the scale. We step on it and if we're losing weight we automatically think that we're losing muscle and strength. This can be a real downer because we work so hard for every pound of muscle we gain.
