Finding Blissful Contentedness

Why is the Quester's despair about life included Numerologist.com Review in the Bible, as a book of God. Because we cannot find meaning by avoiding the truth of our existence. We cannot ignore the reality of decay and death and with it our inability to transform the world to something more holy, pure and lasting. In spite of all the efforts of generation after generation, we are no bit closer to a perfect world, to having perfect love, justice, peace and truth.

Consequently, 'meaning' is not to be found in the empirical life, but in what is beyond it. Does it mean that we should try to detach ourselves from the concrete world. Yes, and no. Yes, in the sense that attachment to the world is empty and meaningless - everything we see ends up in smoke. No, in the sense that we are aware of traces and reflections of the eternal Meaning of life - the glimmering of light in a tunnel of darkness. It is for us to set our eyes on what supports meaningful living in the world and to commit ourselves to it.

While attending our monthly Pastors and Leaders Prayer Day in the north of Scotland and having thought about what I would be speaking on the following Sunday I was quite astonished and astounded when a colleague and friend quoted and spoke from Psalm 51. That was the passage I was prayerfully considering speaking from and there it was being referred to 'out of the blue' at the Drumossie Prayer Day.

Out of the blue' is not a cliché nor simply a co-incidence, but a most reassuring confirmation. There is a massive and profound difference. Psalm 51 refers to one crucial incident in the life of a king. This is one incident in the life of David, and it took place some three thousand years ago but its relevance today is of paramount importance.
